CIBP WG on Governance met in Rome

The meeting of the CIBP Working Group on Governance gathered in Rome, at the headquarters of Assopopolari. Representatives from Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Canada, Brazil and Morocco were present at the meeting.

The meeting focused on the cooperative governance and in particular on the impact of the regulatory changes. Participants were also engaged in a lively exchange on the activities that are taking place in various countries and how to protect the identity of the cooperative model.

It was also a favorable opportunity for an exchange of information and feedback on the evolution of the global banking cooperation.

As Mr De Lucia Lumeno, Secretary General of Assopopolari stressed that the meeting was a great opportunity to confirm the importance that governance has for the Popular and Cooperative Banks as well as the important recognition by Standard Ethics that have rewarded Popular Banks for their involvement in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate governance.
