CIBP has organised the Forum n.8 entitled "Cross-Sectoral Collaborative Ecosystem – Driving Future Business Strategies to Pursue Success and Growth"

The *preliminary findings of GRACE16 reveal that 71% of Coops currently do not take part in any cross-sector commercial activities, while interestingly, the vast majority of these Coops (84%) believe there is a need for a cross-sector digital platform that could lead to the creation and development of new markets and drive revenue growth. What makes Collaborative Commerce (C-Commerce) special for Coops? How can Coops get ahead of the C-Commerce curve? What could be the future of Coops within a Collaborative Ecosystem? There is a window of opportunity for Coops, to unlock novel or hidden value and thrive through a novel business model that is digital-born, platform-based and cross-sectoral.

*GRACE16 is a global research reflecting the views of Coop C-suite leaders, upper management and employees on the many ways C-Commerce and digitalization could transform the Coop sector and represent the greatest growth potential and competitive advantage. GRACE16 is currently an open research till the 29th July 2016 (deadline).

Day 3 – The voice of cooperators!

Cooperatives in action to address global issues

In 2016, the Summit introduces a new element: Thousands of participants will take part in workshops with a view to consolidating their power to act by sharing their ideas, passions and points of view in order to provide concrete solutions to the key issues identified by the UN.

Experts will take part in a round table to present their points of view, and participants will gather in workshops to propose ways of addressing specific challenges, such as:

  • Food Security

  • Employment Crisis

  • Access to Health Care and Social Services

  • Poverty and Financial Inclusion

  • Climate Change and Sustainable Development

At the end of the workshops, the participants will designate a spokesperson from a cooperative or a mutual to represent them during the round table that will follow. This wrap-up plenary session will provide an opportunity to learn about the sustainable development strategies that were identified during the different workshops, and to discover numerous business opportunities that can contribute to the well-being of communities.

Scientific activities

A scientific symposium will bring together researchers, practicians, players and stakeholders from different backgrounds to discuss the power to act and the impact of cooperatives and mutuals. Scientific activity projects can be submitted until March 31, 2016 by anyone who wishes to take part in these scientific and professional sessions. Learn more about the Summit scientific activities.

Tomorrow’s leaders at the core of the Summit

Young people involved in cooperatives around the world, between the ages of 20 and 35, are invited to meet current cooperative leaders and representatives of major international organizations, such as the UN and WHO, for an introduction to best practices in cooperatives and mutuals. This is also an exceptional opportunity for them to network with their peers.

The next generation will be central to the program. Young leaders will be invited to participate in several forums as panelists.

Numerous events to add to your agenda

In collaboration with its partners, the Summit will offer several workshops, forums and breakfast meetings. These Rendez-vous will provide a unique opportunity to talk about a wide range of topics pertaining to different cooperative sectors.
